Chair’s Corner: Happy New Year

By Liz Townsend Bird, The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri, Women’s Network Chair

Hello Women’s Network Community!  Welcome to 2023!  I hope you are feeling inspired and energized to show up and accomplish your resolutions for the New Year. That is, if resolutions are your thing. Resolutions can be a powerful way to build momentum, but too often that momentum isn’t enough to keep you going to the end. I know I’m not the only one who has set themselves up for disappointment by not sticking to resolutions. (Can I get an Amen?)

This year, I am reframing this New Year ritual by setting an intention rather than a resolution. An intention that will mindfully guide me throughout the year; an intention that aligns with the person I want to be, and how I chose to use my energy. I’m currently still working on creating my intention statement, and enjoying the thoughtful process as I reflect on my core values and beliefs.

If setting intentions is something that resonates with you, I’d love to visit with you about your process and journey. Let’s connect! Please send me an email at lbird@sharefoodbringhope.org or connect with me on social media. Creating meaningful relationships through personal and professional growth is one of the many benefits of Women’s Network. And, what better way to put “We rise by lifting others” into action for 2023!

Cheers!
