Member Profile: Sarah Hudson

Current job: Employee Benefit Consultant

Employer: AssuredPartners / Naught-Naught Agency

Hometown: Columbia, MO

First job: Nanny

School: Went to Mizzou for industrial engineering and did not finish my degree.  I worked at a hair salon as a receptionist at the time and decided to go to cosmetology school and get my license.

What led you to your career? I had left the salon industry for a few reasons, but one being the lack of benefits.  When this opportunity arised at AssuredPartners, I knew it was the right fit.  In turn, I can now help businesses of all sizes create benefit plans that not only attract, but retain their employees.

Two or three words that friends and acquaintances would use to describe you: Loyal, Hard Working, Easy Going

Best part of your job: I recently helped create a team-building initiative at our local office, which has been so much fun! We play a game each week and incorporate weekly fitness challenges as well.

Currently reading: “Atomic Habits” by James Clear & “Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours” by Kevin Leman (if you have kids – this is a great book)

Hardest thing you’ve ever done: Half-marathon.  I checked a box to say I did it, but never again!

Family/children/furry children: My husband and I have 2 daughters (ages 1 & 4) and 2 very hairy Australian shepherds.

Place you want to visit: Hawaii

Best piece of advice someone has given you: Make time for your wellness or you will be forced to make time for your illness.

Goal for 2022: My goal is to qualify for our annual sales trip! I also have a goal to be stronger after kids than before kids.  I’m always competing with myself at the gym and trying to beat times/weights from the year prior.  Hoping to say I can clean and jerk 185# by the end of the year!
