Get to know Lisa Driskel Hawxby, DogMistress and owner of DogMaster Distillery for this week’s Women in Business spotlight.

Q: How long has DogMaster been in business?

A:  We have been open to the public for a little over seven years.

Q: What made you decide to open DogMaster?

A: We wanted to create something that we could share and enjoy with others.

Q: What kind of amenities and services does DogMaster offer?

A: We are a working distillery with a tasting room that offers an extensive cocktail menu. We host small groups as well.

Q: What makes Dogmaster stand out from other businesses like it?

A: We are the first craft distillery in the area. Everything about us is unique, from our spirits to our cocktails to our space and merch.

Q: How do you connect with the community?

A: “We are very involved in all aspects of the community, especially with charitable giving to places like Access Arts, Ronald McDonald House, VAC, Rainbow House, Coyote Hill, Central MO Foster Care and Adoption Association, Armani’s Angles and Welcome Home.

Q: What else would you like our Women’s Network members to know about your business?

A: I have my own branch of our business, DogMistress Essentials, where I create little luxuries from distillery cast-offs and found treasures.
