Member Profile: Michele Curry

If you haven’t seen Michele’s name at Commerce Bank or Women’s Network, maybe you’ve seen her on stage at a local theatre. On top of her already busy schedule, she performs many lead roles around Columbia including Ariel in The Little Mermaid , and Inga in Avenue Q. Michele’s likeability on stage follow her in to every aspect of her life; she said the three words that people use to describe her are outgoing, involved, and personable, and the minute you meet her you will absolutely understand why. How long have you been in Columbia: My whole life.

College/degree(s): B.S. Business Administration – Finance from the University of Missouri

Why did you decide to go into this field: I’m business-minded with a flair for analytics and problem-solving, which has proven successful in helping the Central Missouri Treasury Services Department remain the highest performing team in the company.

3 words people use to describe you: Outgoing, involved, and personable.

Awards/Recognitions: Treasury Services Sales Specialist of the Year Award – Commerce 2017, recognizing me as the best in the company for Commerce’s entire operations. I also received Best Theatrical Performer in Columbia – Gold Winner for Inside Columbia Magazine in 2017.

Things that occupy your free time: Most everyone who knows me asks about my interests working with local community theater. I am an ingénue on stage and have worked hard behind-the-scenes on governing boards and as a producer. This Autumn I will be making my directorial debut with JJ Musgrove for a production of Tuesdays with Morrie at Talking Horse Productions September 6-9 and 14-16.

Husband/children/furry children: 2 lovely cats are my children with boyfriend, EJ.

Fun facts (hobbies, talents, etc.): Favorite theatrical roles include Mary Poppins, Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Inga in Young Frankenstein the Musical, and Kate Monster in Avenue Q (and I have the pictures to prove it!) I’ve also had my fair share of wins at the Superstar Columbia competition benefiting the Family Counseling Center of Missouri, Inc. Bet you forgot I’m a business banker by day, huh?
