Thanks to a group of extremely dedicated individuals, Women’s Network has a new strategic plan!  Inspired by the vision of Erica Pefferman, led by Ann Merrifield and facilitated by Deb Snellen, this diverse team met monthly for a year to identify Women’s Network direction for the next 3 to 5 years.  Following are the five goals and strategies:

  • Invest in Strategic Outreach
    • Partner purposefully with other groups
    • Leverage the WN “voice” to advocate for specific policy issues relevant to women and business
    • Establish (and maintain) a consistent steering committee presence at Chamber Government Affairs committee (possibly current past chair)
  • Cultivate Empowered Leaders
    • Provide leadership workshops/retreats, specifically empowering volunteers
    • “Tap” others to be leaders
    • Create defined paths to sustainable leadership
    • Identify and share best practices for committee chairs
  • Inspire Committee Involvement
    • Recognize and reward active members
    • Encourage involvement through personalized stewardship
    • Educate members on how to maximize their benefits through committee involvement
    • Advertise committee meeting topics
  • Deliver Relevant Programming
    • Conduct needs-based assessment to determine programming needs/wants
    • Refresh communication platforms
  • Diversify and Engage Membership
    • Know our members and identify their levels of engagement
    • Network with other organizations for the purpose of recruiting members
    • Encourage mentorship
